ABOUT GLUTATHIONE
  • Glutathione is the master antioxidant and regulates the actions of lesser antioxidants such as Vitamin C and Vitamin E within the body.
  • The highest concentration of glutathione is found in the liver which is the principal organ involved in detoxification and elimination of toxic materials.
  • Glutathione is critical for immune function and controlling inflammation. It is the master detoxifier and the body’s main antioxidant, protecting our cells and making our energy metabolism run well.
  • Need Cysteine (NAC) as a precursor to stimulate production of glutathione. High cystine foods include pork, beef, chicken, fish, lentils, oatmeal, eggs, low-fat yogurt, sunflower seeds, and cheese.

The following are some commonly used ‘acupoints’ to consider in the context of supporting methylation and detoxification when using the Glutathione patch

Location of DETOX POINTS

Liv 3 (Tai Chong – Great Rushing): Liv3 is associated with the Liver meridian and is often used to promote the smooth flow of Liver Qi. It may be beneficial for addressing issues related to detoxification and the processing of toxins in the body. Located on the top of the foot, in the depression between the first and second metatarsal bones.

LI 4 (He Gu – Union Valley): Located on the hand between the thumb and index finger, LI4 is a commonly used point for promoting the circulation of Qi and blood. It may be included in acupuncture protocols aimed at supporting overall detoxification, often used with headaches. Found on the back of the hand between the first and second metacarpal bones.

ST 36 (Zu San Li – Leg Three Miles): This point is located on the lower leg and is believed to tonify Qi and promote the overall health of the body. It is commonly used to support digestion and may indirectly contribute to detoxification. Situated on the lower leg, about four finger-widths below the kneecap and one finger-width to the outside of the shinbone

Kid 3 (Tai Xi – Supreme Stream): This point is located on the inside of the ankle and is associated with the Kidney meridian. It may be used to support the Kidney’s role in detoxification and elimination processes. This is an important point for both men and women. It can help boost male sperm count and motility and help female egg health. The Kidney 3 acupuncture point sits just inside the “ravine” of your inner ankle, which stimulates reproductive organ function. Located on the outside of the ankle, above the Achilles tendon and near the ankle bone.

Sp 6 (San Yin Jiao – Three Yin Intersection): Found on the inside of the leg, Sp6 is associated with nourishing blood and promoting the smooth flow of Qi. It is often used to address issues related to the reproductive system and may play a role in supporting detoxification processes. Found on the inside of the leg, about three finger-widths above the ankle.

GB 34 (Yang Ling Quan – Yang Mound Spring): GB 34 Found on the outside of the leg, below the knee, GB34 is associated with the Gallbladder meridian. It is often used to promote the smooth flow of Qi and may be included in acupuncture treatments for detoxification.
