How it all started with LIFEWAVE
MY success story & results ? After a trip & fall accident in 2020, I started with Lifewave X39 patch (Thank you Tah for introducing me to the products) and quickly noticed a 50% reduction in knee pain! Dr’s said I had “bone-on-bone” and needed a knee replacement. I also started using Ice Wave & AEON (for stress and inflammation) patches, see 2020 picture below. YAY no more pain! I know, amazing right? After a few months of using the X39, AEON and Icewave patches, the pain and inflammation was gone. I was mostly pain free for about 4 years, pain was manageable with occasional patching on a busy day, water aerobics and a healthy diet which helped to build strength and reduce inflammation.
I continued with stretching and chi gong classes, and finally noticed I had no ability to balance on one leg —my right or left leg — so finally scheduled the knee replacement surgery for March 20, 2024. I admit to having big fears about finding the right surgeon and surviving the operation. But I took comfort in knowing post surgery I could use the same patches to help manage pain/inflammation — ICEWAVE, CARNOSINE, X39 and for anxiety I used AEON.
Before Surgery in 2020
AFTER SURGERY April 8, 2024
Post Knee surgery
I began patching right away, using Carnosine, X39 on knee around scar tissue and Icewave for pain (sometimes two sets) post surgery on March 20, 2024. I was able to get off the pain meds quickly, never took the NORCO but I did take the TRAMADOL. PT Started the week I got home. I was very low energy, lethargic for weeks, rested and took my meds. I’m now 8 weeks out from surgery, no meds, and my knee is fine, MY KNEE IS FINE !!! Im going for 1/2 hour walks every day no pain and no patches needed.
BUT I’m finding low back pain to be a major problem. Found out my SI joint (Sacroiliac joint) is inflamed. The pain in low back on left side is telling me something isn’t balanced. Osteopathic manipulations really help, Dr. Whelan said left leg is a bit longer, so we pulled out my right leg/hip (with me resisting) along with some cranial sacral work on Monday April 23 and SI joint work on Wednesday May 15 apt with several more appointments scheduled. My chiropractor came to the rescue also, said the new left knee is perfectly balanced, but could see one hip was higher than the other. WE WILL GET There.
I believe my body wants to get back into balance and it will take time. It felt higher when I walk, but since I was walking bone on bone for years (like walking on a flat tire for years) it makes sense—the hips are needing to realign with the new support from my knee. So now that Ive got some lift and support, it’s bound to feel different. But is the lift due to the swelling/inflammation from surgery, and will it eventually settle down? (I mentioned this to the surgeons PA on last office visit on Thursday April 11. The PA said it takes the brain about 3 months to make adjustments to support provided by my new knee. He also said to start walking 30 minutes each day which should help the transition.)
I was able to get on Rapid Fire call April 23, 2024 with Dr. Kan and she suggested to ease Back Pain resulting from knee replacement surgery:
1. Place on centerline of body x39 CV 4 (below belly button) and x49 on low back GV 3 or back of neck on GV 14.
2. Icewave on Bottom of the feet Kidney 1 WRTL Bubbling Spring
3. Carnosine on left knee GB 34 and AEON or Glutathione on right knee GB 34.
Above has 4 triangles to get energy moving, and Im starting to feel some release.
BIG Priority NOW in PT is to increase range of motion and doing my exercises. To help me stay motivated I needed to learn more. Why EXERCISE and Stretching IS IMPORTANT TO GET LIGAMENTS AND TENDONS MOVING AGAIN and TO ORGANIZE THE SCAR TISSUE that is rushing in to try to mend and repair tissue damaged during surgery? BUT the big push I was doing caused by SI Joint to be inflamed. I started using Glutathione on my tail bone, and Icewave on point of pain, with Carnosine on CV 4.
Thanks to MENDMYKNEE.COM for below learning and motivation:
“Swelling and inflammation is your body’s way of sending blood to the area to start healing. Healing at this point will also expand the blood vessels in the injured tissue – they enlarge and swell causing you pain. This pain is a signal for you to lessen activity that would put anymore undue stress on your knee injury. It also acts as a reminder that you have an injury
Why are knee injuries so hard to overcome? In two words – scar tissue.
Tendons, ligaments, the menisci and other soft tissue in the knee are all meant to be soft and flexible, ready to work and move extreme forces in everyday activities. Damaged tissue heals with scar tissue; little tiny band-aids that overlap each other on the tissue mending the injury. With the added scar tissue the tendons/ligaments/menisci become rigid, less ready to move and unable to recieve the full force of your movements. If you’re suffering with scar tissue now you may feel the effects with stiffness, tightness, weakness and tiredness in your knee.
Scar tissue can form fast to bring together the edges of a tear, but working fast doesn’t mean that the job’s done right. When scar tissue forms it doesn’t come together as neatly as regular (healthy) tissue would. Scar tissue fibers will lay down over top of your tear in a cluttered, messy and jumbled up way.
Imagine throwing a bunch of drinking straws in the air… When those straws hit the ground they’ll land in a random, unorganized way. It even seems silly to think that those straws could land perfectly straight and all in the same direction.
Using conservative treatment methods will help to soften scar tissue and bring more blood flow to allow your body to convert this scar tissue to normal, healthy tissue much more quickly. Stretching also helps to organize the scar tissue, increasing the strength of this tissue so it’s more like the weave of a basket. Using conservative treatment methods and stretching regularly are both key parts of your recovery and your PT after surgery.”
I’ve massaged some of the trigger points below to find tender spots, and stay with it or apply a patch (Carnosine, AEON or Glutathione) to see what helps.

How to Apply Acupressure for Knee Pain
One of the benefits of acupressure for knee pain is you can apply it yourself. You don’t need to find someone else because the pressure points are all easily accessible.
To apply pressure, use your thumb or finger tips to press firmly on the pressure points for 5-10 seconds at a time. Repeat the pressure 4-5 more times at each point for both legs.
You can also try to self-massage the pressure points with slow, circular motions for 20-30 seconds. That can help increase circulation.
If you feel severe pain on any pressure point, stop the pressure. Any intense pain from the pressure can potentially lead to more serious injuries if you continue.
